Dickinsons Real Deal
Jubilee Mark Lodge No 375
1st March 2013

Harry Kilgour cannot help but have been impressed by the excellent manner in which Ray Dickinson WM of Jubilee Mark Lodge advanced him into the order. With excellent support from Provincial Charity Steward Alan Jones, Harry’s proposer, who delivered the latter parts of the ceremony Ray oversaw a ceremony of the highest quality.
With only a days notice that the RW PGM Peter Connolly would be at the meeting he could have been forgiven for being a little nervous but if he was it didn’t show.

Peter remarked, “I was in the Furness area for a charity presentation at short notice and took advantage of the opportunity to visit Jubilee Mark Lodge. I had a thoroughly good time and witnessed a Lodge that combined a top class ceremony with that touch of friendliness which typifies our degree.”
The Lodge of Warwick is Harry’s mother craft lodge but he joined Thurston Lodge in Ulverston having moved to Coniston following his retirement from the Warwickshire Police.

John Long, his proposer into Craft Freemasonry, was present to witness the proceedings.
John’s entry into the Mark Degree was prompted in an unusual way. Until 2010 he served for several years as Commonwealth Secretary of the Royal Life Saving Society.

He was asked by the President of the Society how his Masonic career was going and when his reply was greeted with the words that he wasn’t a Mark Mason he thought he had better join the order.

He was advanced into Wicket Mark Lodge which meets in Marks Mason Hall. The President of the RLSS being MW Bro. His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent it was probably a good move!
